Marseille im 13. Jh.

Hallo,

ich suche alle möglichen Informationen rund um und über Marseille in der ersten Hälfte des 13. Jahrunderts. Interessant wäre eine ungefähre Einwohnerzahl, Stadtherr, diplomatische Beziehungen, finanzieller und militärischer Status und natürlich auch kulturelle/religiöse Infos.

Das einzige worauf ich jetzt mal gestoßen bin ist, dass es zwischen 1216 und 1218 Republik war. Details dazu finde ich aber nicht mal in meinen schlauen Büchern....

Early in the 11th century, trade had expanded and the city prospered. Marseilles became an independent republic in 1214, but remained independent only for 38 years. In 1252, Charles of Anjou took Marseilles under his rule.

During the 12th-14th centuries, Marseilles competed with Genoa for the trade in food and war material for the Crusaders. Marseilles became very prosperous during this period, reaping direct profits as well as ownership of a section of Jerusalem where it had its own



A plague arriving via Marseilles in 1346 devastated Europe, leaving 25 million dead.

Wealth expanded along with the trade, that spread out across the Mediterranean, until the 15th century. In 1423, Marseilles was pillaged by the fleet from Aragon, but recovered quickly under the influence of the Forbin brothers, two Marseilles merchants. Good King René came to Marseilles in 1423 for a long stay, increasing royal interest in the city. In 1481, Marseilles was brought under the French crown, while remaining a part of Provence.

In 1660, King Louis XIV had the ramparts torn down, and the town began its expansion, for the first time, beyond the original fortified area on the north side of the Old Port.

Kannst du französisch, Lukas? (google versucht sich übrigens auch im Übersetzen) ;-)


1192 : Alphonse d'Aragon tente d'assiéger Marseille, mais il est repoussé par Hugues Fer. La ville est gérée par les consuls sous l'autorité du vicomte Roncelin.


1207 : Roncelin est condamné par le pape.


1209 : Excommunication d'Hugues Fer. La ville est "interdite" par le légat du pape.


1211 : Le pape confirme les sanctions. Roncelin se soumet.


1212 : L'abbaye de Saint-Victor récupère tous les droits sur la vicomté de Roncelin.


1215 : Mort de Roncelin. La ville entre en conflit avec l'abbaye.


1216 : Les habitants de la basse ville entrent en révolte contre l'évêque.


1218 : Nouvelle "interdiction" de la ville. Excommunication de ses habitants.


1220 : Accord de la ville avec l'évêque.


1224 : Accord de la ville avec l'abbaye. La ville devient "vicomtesse de Marseille".


1226 : Louis VIII conquiert les terres provençales du comte de Toulouse au nom du pape. Les droits sur Marseille reviennent à Raimond Bérenger V.


1229 : La ville basse, après une nouvelle révolte contre l'évêque est "interdite" et excommuniée. Elle reconnaît la suzeraineté de Raimond VII de Toulouse. Elle refuse celle de Raimond Bérenger V.


1230 : Accord avec le nouvel évêque.


1243 : Raimond Bérenger V, grâce à l'appui du roi de France, fait reconnaître sa suzeraineté.


1245 : Mort de Raimond Bérenger V.


1246 : Son héritière, Béatrix épouse Charles d'Anjou, frère cadet de Louis IX.


1249 : Mort du comte de Toulouse, Raimond VII.


1252 : Premiers accords de paix entre Charles d'Anjou et Marseille, qui s'est soumise.
